Industrial visualization for trade show booth
As a follow-up project to a brand film already produced by my contractor, they were commissioned with the production of an additional industrial visualization for the upcoming trade show Fackpack 2025, focusing on a new automated packaging machine. Special attention should be paid to the animation of the heart of the machine, the complex machinery that is responsible for the actual automated sealing of the packaging straps and therefore my main task.
Since the manufacturer of the machine had its own visualization department, an already shaded and textured 3D model could be provided which of course saved a lot of time. Although being able to move certain parts in accordance with others and bring the machine to life, meant investing a couple of hours into sorting and rigging the extensive geometry first.
The speed at which the sealing mechanism operates, presented a problem though: the machine is able to seal several packages per second and moves way to fast to animate a clean packaging loop with a frame rate of only 25 frames per second. Fortunately the client could provide me with a slowed-down reference for the sealing process. This way, I could animate the whole process in 25fps and after I was satisfied with the slowed-down loop I could simply scale the animation curves and clean the resulting key frames.
