Luxury car animation combining CGI and live-action footage
Before the release of the new AUDI A8L, the manufacturer wanted to show dealers what to expect. They commissioned my client to produce a nearly three-minute stylized luxury car animation, combining live-action drone footage of Salzburg with full CGI sequences of the new model and fully digital environments, to be screened at an event in AUDI’s Munich-based cinema equipped with a 5K big screen.
More than an attractive exterior
While my colleagues dealt with the animation and the design of the several stylized backgrounds and environments, I was responsible for cleaning and sorting the supplied CAD-data of the car and for creating realistic materials and textures according to the instructions of the client.
After we were satisfied with how the car looked in the virtual environments, I went to work on animating and lighting the interior shots to show off all this work in juicy glowing detail.
